Review | Chateau M

I heard Sam Chapman (pixiwoos) talk about this limited edition ‘Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour’ from MAC in one of her Youtube videos, so of course I had to give it a try!

As part of their Helmut Newton collection they have launched a few different shades a while back now. I just got my hands on ‘Chateau M’ and I am so excited that I have found the most perfect shade of red.

It’s not too orange or bluetoned, but it’s just this true red color. It suits my skin and eye color very nicely.

When applying it  almost a bit liquidy but dries in this most beautiful creamy matte finish. And I must say: This stuff stays put!

I wore it to work the other day and it did not budge at all. In my job I usually talk alot and this liquid Lipstick didn’t bother at all. Even after luch I wouldn’t  have to reapply since it left kind of a stain.

I paired it with e strong black liner, lashes and some glittery accents in my inner corner to make it a bit more dramatic.

I really like these kind of looks. They’re  pretty simple but can make a huge impact. Red lips can be intimidating at first, but the right shade of red can make you look fresh and put toghether in an instant.

This will definitely be one of my staples from now on!

What is yout favourite red lip?

First Impression: Infinity Palette/Brushes by Linda Hallberg

I seriously could not wait to get my hands on this one. Linda Hallberg has been an inspiration for me since day one!

She’s such an incredibly talented makeup artist but she seems to excel herself everytime she creates a new look. I truly adore her style and approach to make up and was more than thrilled to hear that she released her own makeup brand: LHCosmetics.

Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

I’ve only had my palette for a couple of days so this is more of a first Impression since I am yet to try it properly.

The Palette Comes with 8 big pans of deliciousness. You get two highlighting shades  (Virgo, Milky Way) , two blushy shades (Andromeda, Pinwheel), two more nudey shades (Maffei, Cigar), a baby puke brown (Zwicky, which I loooove!) and a pitch black (Fornax).

“There are no rules to Make up”

The purpose or the idea behind this palette is hidden in the name. It’s supposed to give you infinite possibilities when creating a makeup look. You can choose which color you want to use as an eyeshadow or bronzer or liner. Plus: You can use them wet OR dry! There are no rules to make up, and I think this palette underlines this statement even more.

When I first felt the brushes though, I was a liiiiittle bit (just a little!) disappointed. I imagined them being a bit softer and more luxurious. But as I got to try them I started to like them alot. The liner brush is amazing! It gives me this perfect thin line while not being too hard to control.

The brushes:

Here’s the look I created:

Shades used:

Zwicky: Transition colour in the crease as well as inner and outer corner to create a little halo

Fornax: Outer Corner, lower lashline

Virgo: Center of the lid, inner corner highlight and cheekbone Highlight

Liner is a Catrice Cosmetics liner pen.

As of right now I can say that I like the concept of the palette. I love the fact that you can carry one palette only and create different looks with it. I think it is convenient for when you travel or as an addition to your professional kit.

I am so excied to try more looks with this palette. Keep your eyes open for more pics on my Instagram 🙂

Favourite Fall Lipsticks

Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been a little MIA the past couple of weeks. There has been a lot going on in my personal life that I simply could not find the time to write for my blog.

But now that I am back, can we talk about the fact that we are now in the fall season? I cannot believe that it is the beginning of October already! Where has the time gone?

Anyways, it’s one of my favourite seasons of the year. The leaves changing, the colder weather and the smell of hot spicy drinks in the air make me feel very happy.

I love the way my makeup changes throughout the year as well. I can switch up my summer lipgloss to a bold statement  lipstick.

Here are my most favourite picks of the season:

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

NO.1 would have to be my Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Lolita”

It’s a beautiful reddish brown color  with a matte finish that goes with so many different looks.. I you can wear it with a simple eye look or a vampy smokey eye.

NO.2 : NARS Audacious Lipstick in “Charlotte”

This is such a beautiful true red lipstick with a blue undertone (great if you want to show your pearly whites 😉 ) It has more of a satin finish and great staying power. This literally lasts all day long!

NO.3 : Urban Decay Matte Lipstick in “Blackmail

My favourite so far! This color is not for everybody but I think its a great color if you pair it with a winged liner or a simple eye with just mascara. It’s a statement  anyway.

As you can see it’s still in the old packaging because I bought it last year. But you can still buy it, since it’s part of Urban Decay Vice Lipstick collection.

NO. 4: MAC Matte Lipstik in “Antique Velvet”

For you girls wirth darker skintones but also the ones with lighter skintones this is a great statement lipstick as well. This true dark coffee brown color goes so well with a simple eye look. Like if you want to transform your makeup from day to night this is a great way to do it. (I would wear this color during te day as well ;))

I am beyond excited to get to wear all the bold lipsticks again. I like to pair mine with a winged liner and whispy lashes. ( Or with a smokey eye even!)

What is your favourite fall lip color? Let me know in the comments!

Talk to you soon!
